K-History Archive Search

Answers from official Korean historical sources

What is the K-History Archive Search tool?

This tool is built on a proprietary RAG database that lets you freely ask the AI about the entire body of Korean historical records in their original Hanja text — including the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, History of the Three Kingdoms, New Compilation of Korean History, History of Goryeo, Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms, and War Diary of Admiral Yi Sun-sin.

It uses meaning-based (hybrid) search rather than keyword matching, so it understands natural-language questions well. When the reliability of a result is low, it honestly refrains from citing sources and instead draws on general knowledge. When it does cite a source, it indicates which historical record it came from (e.g., the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty or the History of the Three Kingdoms).

When can you use it?

The K-History Archive Search tool is especially useful in these situations.

  • When you want to look into political and social records by Joseon-dynasty reigns (Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, from King Taejo to Sunjong)
  • When you need Three Kingdoms records (History/Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms)
  • When you want to find Goryeo dynasty records (History of Goryeo)
  • When you're curious about comprehensive Korean history (New Compilation of Korean History, covering politics, economy, society, culture, science, and scholarship from ancient to modern times)
  • When you need records related to the Imjin War or Admiral Yi Sun-sin (War Diary of Admiral Yi Sun-sin)

For example, you can naturally ask "Find UFO sightings recorded in the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty", "Organize ghost stories from the Joseon era", or "Find records of tigers appearing in Hanyang". The AI will then use this tool to give you the results.

How to use it
